Remarks from the Author

It was a tough decision. I argued with myself for the past couple of months whether I should do it or not. Wrote dozens of proposals – just to discard them, hesitate, rewrite. Relaying for Terra Classic has proven to be my worst financial decision (Ok – maybe the second worst after my LUNA bagย :joy:).

I already threw several thousands of Dollars into a black hole and I kinda thought my validator is going to fund it. But instead of gaining in delegations I see false prophets who never did anything for $lunc (except fueling the drama) pass itโ€ฆ Going to Top 10 at light speed.

This financial nightmare has to stop. Not only because my wife is starting to go after meโ€ฆ

Abstract

This proposal requests funding from the Community Pool to cover the operation of the IBC relayer connecting Terra Classic with Osmosis, Noble, and Axelar for a period of six months.

Motivation

A reliable relayer is a critical infrastructure for keeping IBC channels operational. Without continuous relaying, IBC transfers and interchain interactions will fail, transfer packets get stuck leading to broken user experience, loss of liquidity access, and reduced usability of Terra Classic within the Cosmos ecosystem.

Rationale

LuncGoblins currently funds relayers to connect Terra Classic to Noble, Osmosis and Axelar. Operating and maintaining these relayers comes with significant recurring costs: server infrastructure, feed services, manual maintenance and relaxing transaction fees.

These costs cannot be covered through the the validator services. LuncGoblins also tried a public funding campaign on X – without success.

These costs cannot be sustained privately over the long term without compensation anymore. Funding ensures that Terra Classic remains reliably connected to major Cosmos chains, securing liquidity and interoperability.

Cost Breakdown (monthly)

  • Hardware: 4 chains ร— โ‚ฌ130 = โ‚ฌ520
  • Feed services: 4 chains ร— โ‚ฌ100 = โ‚ฌ400
  • Labor: 2h/week ร— 4 weeks ร— โ‚ฌ60 = โ‚ฌ480
  • Subtotal: โ‚ฌ1,400
  • +19% VAT: โ‚ฌ266
  • Total per month: โ‚ฌ1,666

Total for 6 months

โ‚ฌ1,666 ร— 6 = โ‚ฌ9996

Requested Amount

โ‚ฌ10,000 in LUNC equivalent at the time of disbursement. For the โ‚ฌ4 difference Iโ€™ll buy my kids an ice if you don”t mind. I will be able to tell them โ€œyour Ice is a community pool spend – youโ€™ll never come off that curse.โ€

Implementation

  • Continuation of relayer operations for Osmosis, Noble, and Axelar.
  • Guaranteed uptime for a 6-month period.
  • Transparency through public reporting of outages or major maintenance.

Conclusion

Approving this proposal ensures the stable operation of essential IBC connections, supporting liquidity, usability, and the integration of Terra Classic within the wider Cosmos network.
